You will find this old gnarly olive tree in Exarcheia Square. Here and the area surrounding is a major part of why i fell in love with Athens, theres a strong political or anti political edge to the streets here. Its filled with young people exchanging ideas and glances, with a splattering of refugees trying to make a living, over watch by the older generation shaking their heads or watching admiration. This place seems to be changing fast, so if you’re ever in town please take a look before it becomes another Shoreditch which I sincerely hope it doesn’t.
