Saint John's Walled Garden Sketchbook Original Drawing

Sketchbook original drawing, drawn with light fast inks on location 22cm x 24cm 

This green tree is next to the walled garden in St. John’s of Hackney church yard. The walled gardens can be quite an refuge from the surrounding madness especially in the summer when the temperatures in the bedsits become intolerable and the only relief is a can of strong cider and a park bench. But now in the winter it is quiet, only few hardy children running around within the walls questioning why the water fountain is not working in the wet play area as their parents watch on with one eye locked on them and the other on a phone screen.
