This weeping willow sits beside the river Lea as it winds through the Olympic park.
In some parts of Italy it is believed that the willow weeps due to the weight of tears that were shed for Adam and Eve when they were exiled from the garden of eden and in British folklore the willow is closely connected to rejection and people would meditate under a willow tree to relieve sorrow from a break up and the tree would offer comfort.
