This tree is in St John’s church yard, Hackney. The place is a hive of activity during the warmer months, with lots of groups of people making use of the benches for meeting, drinking and socialising. Now as the cooler weather is coming, seasonal goodbyes are being exchanged and these groups are becoming less. They’ll still be the hardy and lonely ones that’ll persist into the winter months. But these are few and like us all they’ll will become mistresses of the weather and will have to seek shelter until the weather turns again.
