A pollarded London Plane Tree on Blurton Road. The London plane tree was planted throughout London during the Late Georgian and Victorian times. The Plane is a hybrid and very tolerable to air pollution that why its was the ideal tree to be planted during the coal burning days. Blurton Road is pretty much Standard Victorian terraces houses, with a block of 70s flats opposite the Elderfield pub which was build on a site of an old church which was demolition around 1972. I have a fondness for this road, for a short period of time i knew quite a few people that lived here and they always seemed to be something going on. Whether it was house parties, barbecues, Performances or just drinks at the Elderfields. Now a lot of the houses are single family occupants and all the house shares have been moved out due to the gentrification, so it more of a family street, which is nice on one hand and utterly dull on another.
